HOLIDAY HOUSE . NAXOS ISLAND . GREECE
The project involves the reconstruction of a derelict vernacular property into a modern holiday home with guest house.
The building is a single room of rectangular shape which was purposely built to accommodate guests, pets, natural products and seeds.
The house maintains original features such as thick stone walls with internal coves for storage and a grand fireplace ‘Hestia’ used for cooking.
The back of the room leads to a narrow strip area used as cellar. The proposals include for a refurbished ground floor living space, an upper
floor used for bedrooms and a guest house. All original features will be restored back to their original status and all windows and doors will
be designed to match the Cycladic vernacular style.
